11.1 Professional Standards
We will observe and act in accordance with the bye-laws, regulations, and code of ethics of our professional body (see Key Facts) and accept instructions to act for you on this basis. This includes compliance with all relevant ethical, professional, and statutory obligations, including those set out by the Institute of Financial Accountants (IFA) and any other relevant regulatory authority.
As required by the **Provision of Services Regulations 2009 (SI 2009/2999)**, details of our professional registration (including audit registration, if applicable) and other firm credentials are published on our website as stated in the Key Facts document.
11.2 Professional Indemnity Insurance
In accordance with the disclosure requirements of the Provision of Services Regulations 2009, details of our **professional indemnity insurer** are also included in the Key Facts document.
11.3 Authority to Correct HMRC Errors
You grant us authority to correct any **errors or omissions made by HM Revenue & Customs** that we may become aware of in the course of providing our services. This includes making necessary contact with HMRC on your behalf to rectify issues without prior consultation in each instance, unless otherwise agreed.
11.4 Tax Compliance and Ethics
We do not engage in or support tax planning strategies that breach the **Professional Conduct in Relation to Taxation (PCRT)**. We will always comply with the **General Anti-Abuse Rule (GAAR)** and **Targeted Anti-Avoidance Rules (TAAR)** where applicable. Our approach is to provide prudent, ethical, and fully compliant tax advice. We shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or cost resulting from our adherence to these statutory or regulatory duties.
11.5 Client Disclosure Obligations
You are responsible for informing us of any **errors, omissions, or inaccuracies** in information or returns submitted to authorities that you become aware of after submission. This allows us to support you in making timely voluntary disclosures to mitigate potential penalties or investigations.
11.6 Data Protection & Professional Body Requirements
The data protection implications of our professional obligations — including quality assurance, file reviews, and regulator access — are outlined in our Privacy Notice, which should be read alongside these Terms of Business. Regulatory reviewers are bound by confidentiality provisions equivalent to those we operate under.
