28.1 In the event that we resign or are requested to resign, we will ordinarily issue a formal disengagement letter. This letter will confirm the termination of our services and outline any continuing responsibilities of either party, if applicable.
28.2 If there has been no meaningful contact or engagement from you for a period of three (3) months or more, we reserve the right, at our discretion, to issue a disengagement letter to your last known postal or email address. Upon issuance, we shall be deemed to have ceased acting on your behalf.
28.3 Any disengagement—whether initiated by you or by us—shall be without prejudice to any outstanding fees, disbursements, or contractual obligations that remain due as of the date of disengagement.
28.4 We reserve the right to withhold any deliverables, records, or correspondence until all outstanding fees have been paid in full, subject to applicable laws and professional conduct requirements.
28.5 Following termination of our engagement for any reason, we may securely destroy any documents or records belonging to you that we have been unable to return after a period of six (6) months, unless otherwise required by law or regulation.
